Job Title: Domestic Program Coordinator
Favorite Bible Verse: Psalm 29:11- The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.
Favorite Adoption Story: I have many amazing adoption stories and I could get lost in telling them all. However, the one I always tell first is of 4 boys I had during my time working at SC Social Services. They had been through so much at a young age and they just wanted love, constant stability, and not around the clock people saying their behaviors were there to stay. All four of these boys were half-brothers. Two were placed in a group home and two were placed in a foster home. Every two weeks when the 4 boys would visit, you could see the unbreakable bond where they needed to see each other every day. The foster home where two of the boys were placed saw this as well and decided to move to a bigger home so they could adopt all 4 brothers. The foster dad’s biological son lives in the home as well. 5 sons! This story is amazing because it is not every day that a family sees these bonds and goes above and beyond to keep siblings together. The boys settled in with their adoptive family and seemed to not skip a beat. It was like they had been with the family their whole lives. The icing on the cake-- the adoptive mom did not think she could birth children and right before the younger two boys were adopted, she found out she was pregnant with a little girl!
