Program Highlights
Nightlight’s Colombia Adoption Program stands out as one of the largest and most successful international adoption programs. This program is notably the fastest option for families open to adopting older children, offering a streamlined process and a wide range of support services.
Special Hosting Opportunities
Colombia is unique as families have the opportunity to host a child in their home. We are currently recruiting families to host in summer of 2025. Hosting typically happens for 5 weeks and the children arrive at the end of June. They usually return to Colombia at the beginning of August. All of the children who come for hosting are legally eligible for adoption and most families go on to adopt the child(ren) they host.
The children available for hosting are usually 12 and older. There are single children and sibling groups available. Sometimes sibling groups will have one child that is younger but the older child will likely be over the age of 12.
We partner with Kidsave who is a hosting organization that brings waiting children from Colombia who have not found an adoptive family in their country. Colombia requires that all host families complete a mini home study, complete background clearances, 10 hours of training and support from a Hague accredited agency service provider. If you live in one of our 10 licensed states (CA, CO, FL, GA, IN, KY, MO, OK, SC, TX) we can provide your required mini home study service and report. If you live outside of those states, we can partner with another agency to help complete the required report and still work with you on hosting and adoption from Colombia. Families must work with both Kidsave and one of their partner agencies in order to host.
