My husband and I have always wanted to have children, and it was an unexpected challenge when we faced infertility after marrying in 2017. We were amazed and thankful for our daughter who was born in 2021 through IVF.
We wanted the chance to have more children, and after multiple failed embryo transfers and heartache, we took a break from IVF.
After continued longing to have more children in our family, we prayed about adoption and explored options.
We learned about the Snowflakes Program and knew it would be right for our family. We were already familiar with embryo transfers, and we loved the idea of me being able to carry our children in pregnancy and for us to bond with our child from before the child was born. We applied for the program in fall of 2023 with emotional and financial support from our family and friends.
We were matched with a placing family after a few months of working through the application steps. And by their generosity, we were able to adopt three embryos. The Snowflakes staff made us feel very supported. They guided us through every step and were always ready to answer all of our questions.
Our first embryo transfer was successful, and our daughter Lydia was born December 2024.
We are so happy to be her parents and to have the opportunity to add more children to our family.
We continue to pray for our future plans to transfer our remaining embryos. And we are hopeful that God will continue to provide financially for us, and will prepare our hearts as we continue our journey.
We are glad to share our story, and we hope it encourages you to consider one of Nightlight’s programs.
