Before we started our family, we felt a clear and undeniable calling from God to adopt. This conviction led us to attend an adoption conference, where an unexpected moment planted a seed for our future. Robin won a book in a raffle, Chosen for Greatness by Paul J. Batura. One chapter in particular caught her attention—it was a “Snowflake Story.” Though we did not fully understand its significance at the time, Robin had a sense that one day, this would be part of our journey.
Fast forward a few years: after navigating the adoption process and waiting for that life-changing “phone call,” we miraculously adopted our first daughter, Daisy, through an open, private, local adoption. She was just one month old when she became a part of our family, and we were overjoyed to finally hold her in our arms.
After Daisy joined us, we began to explore why we had not experienced a pregnancy. This led us to a crossroads where we had to decide what path to take next. It was then that Robin remembered the Snowflake story from that book she had won years earlier. The concept of embryo adoption came back into focus, and after much prayer and discussion, we felt a deep sense of peace about pursuing this path.
The process of embryo adoption began with an email to Snowflakes, and from that moment on, we felt God’s hand guiding us every step of the way. Through the amazing generosity of another family, we adopted embryos, and in April 2023, we transferred two embryos. For the first time ever, Robin became pregnant—with twins!
On January 22, 2024, we welcomed Stevey and Rex into the world, a beautiful baby girl and boy. Their arrival was not without challenges. At birth, Stevey was not thriving and spent 10 days in the NICU. During that time, we learned she had gone 13 minutes without sufficient oxygen, placing her at risk for brain damage. Once again, God showed us His miracles. Against all odds, Stevey emerged as a completely healthy, thriving baby girl. Nurses and doctors marveled at her progress, calling her remarkable and a true miracle.
Today, both Rex and Stevey are happy, active, and full of joy. They adore their big sister, Daisy, and eagerly follow her wherever she goes. Watching them together fills our hearts with gratitude.
We thank God every day for our children and the incredible blessing of adoption—both through private adoption and Snowflakes. Each step of our journey has been a testament to God’s faithfulness, and we are so thankful for the miracles He has worked in our lives.
To anyone considering adoption in any form, we hope our story inspires you to take that leap of faith. You never know what miracles might be waiting for you.
