You will sign initial paperwork to begin the process of creating your adoption plan. This paperwork lets us know that you want to move forward with Nightlight. It does not mean you can’t change your mind if your circumstances change.
Your pregnancy counselor will provide you with continuous emotional support according to your needs throughout your journey. Financial support for pregnancy-related expenses is also available, depending on your specific needs.
You will share with your pregnancy counselor specific characteristics that you would like in your baby’s adoptive family. If you are unsure, that’s okay. You can take as much time as you need. We want to be sure you are confident in your decision. You can choose to meet the family in person, over the phone, via Skype, or not at all. Your pregnancy counselor will be with you every step of the way.
Your pregnancy counselor is there to help you as you determine what type of relationship you want to have with the family moving forward. You will also talk with your pregnancy counselor about your delivery and your wishes for the hospital stay.
You are not alone. Your pregnancy counselor will help you navigate your time at the hospital as well as the necessary paperwork. We are here to provide you with continued support.

Nightlight is committed to a lifelong relationship with you and the adoptive family. All of Nightlight’s adoptive families have committed to providing pictures and updates until the child is 18. You and the family may also choose to have visits throughout the child’s life. Nightlight will continue to support you by offering free counseling services according to your needs.
