Anabelle and Tom Petersen tried for five years to conceive a baby naturally, but were unsuccessful. So, the couple turned to in vitro fertilization. Seven embryos were produced, and one of them produced the couples oldest son in 2007. Shortly after the birth of their first son, Anabelle became pregnant (without medical assistance) twice. Deciding that three children was plenty, the couple started exploring options for their six remaining embryos. After looking at their different options, the couple decided to donate three of their embryos to a Canadian couple through embryo adoption.
