Curly-Haired Bi-Racial Toddler

Want to Adopt Multi-Ethnic Embryos?

Adoptive parents needed! The families listed below are seeking adoptive parents for their embryos. These particular families are highlighted because one or both of the donor parents is non-Caucasian. Many of the children are biracial. If you feel you meet their preferences and are interested in adopting their embryos, please contact Christine Mina about submitting an application with the Snowflakes® Code (or Codes) of the embryos you are interested in.

Snowflake Special Case

Mark and Kathy (names have been changed for confidentiality) have been happily married for 22 years! They were married in 1988 and welcomed their first son in 1991 and their second son in 2001. Both are happy, healthy, thriving young men. Mark and Kathy still did not feel that their family was complete, but at that point they were not able to conceive naturally, so they turned to infertility treatments for help. In 2009 they got their wish and became pregnant with twins through IVF. The embryos were created using Kathy’s eggs and Mark’s sperm. They boys are beautiful, happy and healthy! Mark and Kathy are originally from the Ukraine and they are of the Jewish faith. The family attends a local synagogue and they older boys attended Jewish schools. They are also members of the local Jewish Community Center. They are an active family and enjoy spending time together as a family.

Mark and Kathy write, “as a result of fertility treatment we still have two frozen embryos. We are not planning to have any more children. Still, we feel we have a moral obligation to give these embryos a chance of a life with an adoptive family. After any children are born, we are committed to staying in touch with the adoptive family for the benefit of the children in any way possible, including: communicating over the phone, Internet, mail, etc., providing medical and personal information about our family, and anything else that the adoptive family and the children would desire.”

Mark and Kathy are open to a Jewish or Christian adoptive family. They would prefer that the couple be college educated and financially secure. They would prefer the couple be under the age of 50 and have a stable marriage.

These embryos are waiting for their special parents who know in their hearts they are meant to adopt them.  The parents need to know that Kathy’s blood test showed positive for Hepatitis B Core Total AB.  For more information about these test results, please consult your doctor.

More information about the embryos:

Race—Ukranian/Russian

Number of embryos frozen—two

Date of cryopreservation—February 2009

Stage of embryos frozen—Day 3

If you might be the parent(s) these embryos are waiting for, please complete a preliminary application and email it to Megan Fabian, the Snowflakes® Program Coordinator at megan@nightlight.org.  (Please note somewhere that you are specifically interested in the embryos from Mark and Kathy.)  You will be contacted and may be asked to submit a completed homestudy, an autobiographical profile, and a letter from your doctor confirming your ability to carry a baby.  Mark and Kathy are interested in seeing your autobiographical profile so they can feel comfortable with the family who will love and care for these precious embryos.  You may also be able to review Mark and Kathy’s autobiographical profile, pictures, and medical health history before adopting the embryos.
