The educational courses listed below are on general adoption topics and applicable to domestic adoptions, embryo adoptions, and international adoptions. To find out when these courses are being offered — and to register — go to the Seminars/Events List and click on the event details.

Starting the Process of Adoption Webinars

These two online courses form a series about starting the adoption process, but they may be taken independently of each other and in any order. Both are taught by Laura Beauvais-Godwin, an adoptive mother and director of Nightlight's South Carolina office.

  • Financing an Adoption (online)
A webinar exploring ways adopting families can access monies available for adoptions, in addition to discussing creative ways to raise awareness and funds for your adoption.
  • The Adoption Homestudy (online)
A webinar that helps you understand what is asked during the homestudy and what documents are required. Applicable to families regardless of their state of residence.

Local General Adoption Courses (California & South Carolina)

These courses form a portion of the education provided by Nightlight to our Southern California adoption homestudy families.

  • Life-Long Issues in Adoption (local - CA)
A seminar focusing on the core issues of adoption, giving adoptive families an understanding of how they are linked to the other members of the Adoption Triad.
  • Adoption Seminars (local - CA & SC)
Both the California and South Carolina offices hold regular seminars introducing domestic, international, and embryo adoptions.
